WOOSTER, Ohio, Aug. 3 /Christian Newswire/ -- Discover how to untangle from your old nature and put on the new nature of Jesus Christ in a book released today. "Becoming F.I.T. In Christ: Discover Freedom in Transformation" shows Christians how to align their thoughts, words, and motives with the heart of God.

"Christians who are entangled in the effects of sin are still wounded and acting out of their unbridled emotions, unbridled thoughts, and unbridled words," author Lisa McConnell explains. Her new book exposes Satan's tricks and the deceit he uses to keep believers living in their old natures, habitual reactions, and negative attitudes. More importantly, it teaches the keys to living according to the mind and heart of Christ.

"My desire is for Christians to live in victory over sin, Satan, selfishness, and the system of the world," she offers. "In this book they will learn how to become undone from the skewed filtering system of their past and plugged into the mind and ways of Christ."

Her own transformation started 12 years ago when she was pregnant with twins. "I was busy, irritated, out of balance, and frustrated by everyday life that would tip me off the edge. I had no idea it was a spiritual issue," McConnell confesses. "I was frustrated by 'doing' church on Sundays and then muddling through life the rest of the week."

One day, discussing her frustrations with a friend, Lisa came to the harsh realization that she was the one who needed to change, not everyone else around her.

"It's easier to blame others," explains McConnell. But, with God she began to take responsibility for her own attitudes, mindsets, and irrational emotions and she began to change.  "For the first time, I truly allowed God into my soul," she says.

In "Becoming F.I.T. In Christ," McConnell lays out the principles God taught her about a Holy-Spirit-led life. Written in short chapters in workbook style, this study is especially suited to personal devotions or small group study.

Lisa McConnell has a B.A. in Sociology/Physical Education and a Master's degree in Sports Science. She loves teaching women's Bible studies, and she and her husband Ray enjoy teaching marriage and family classes at their church.
