Shane Harper Releases New Single 'Hold You Up' as Sneak Peek for Motion Picture Soundtrack 'God's Not Dead'

NASHVILLE, Oct. 2, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- Multi-talented star Shane Harper released his newest single "Hold You Up" last week on iTunes. The single, which is headed to Christian radio, will be featured in the movie "GOD'S NOT DEAD" as well as on the InPop Records' album, "GOD'S NOT DEAD-THE MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK" which releases in February 2014.

Harper, along with co-writer and producer Morgan Taylor Reid, wrote the song "Hold You Up" specifically for the film where it is played in its entirety throughout the opening credits. Harper's music appears in the film and on the soundtrack courtesy of Deep Well Records.

California born Shane Harper began acting and dancing at the age of nine and is also a talented singer / songwriter. Harper attributes his grounded perspective and discipline to the practice of martial arts. He has had roles in "High School Musical 2," "Platinum," "Flipped," "Re-Animated" and "Dance Revolution" but most notably in Disney's "Good Luck Charlie" and "Wizards of Waverly Place." On his 19th birthday he released his debut album "Shane Harper" via Target stores nationwide and digitally on iTunes and Amazon. Harper has shared the stage with Cody Simpson, Grayson Chance, Demi Lovato, he opened for Carly Rae Jepsen last year and most recently Bridgit Mendler this summer. He recently landed the lead male role on a new MTV pilot titled "Happyland" and has also been spending a lot of time in the studio recording his second album which will hit stores in 2014.

GOD'S NOT DEAD is a feature film about college student Josh Wheaton (Shane Harper) whose faith is challenged by his Philosophy Professor Mr. Radisson (Kevin Sorbo) who believes God does not exist. The film also features "Duck Dynasty" stars Willie and Korie Robertson, David A.R. White, Dean Cain, and the Newsboys. GOD'S NOT DEAD will begin its theatrical showing March 7, 2014.
