Texas Governor Invites ChinaAid's Bob Fu to Meet

AUSTIN, Texas, Aug. 10, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- Texas Governor (and former Republican Presidential Candidate) Rick Perry invited Bob Fu, founder and President of ChinaAid, to meet with him at the Governor's Office in Austin, Texas on August 8th to discuss the situation for Christians and other groups being persecuted in China by the Communist authorities.

Governor Perry stated he is greatly concerned about deteriorating human rights and religious freedom in China. He expressed his deep agreement and solidarity with those suffering persecution in China, and stated he is committed to help advance religious freedom and the rule of law in China. Governor Perry communicated his concern over the continuing illegal imprisonment of human rights lawyer Gao Zhisheng and Mr. Chen Kegui, the nephew of blind self-taught lawyer Chen Guangcheng, and stated his concern for their welfare. The Governor expressed his appreciation and full support of the Midland, Texas-based non-government organization (NGO) China Aid mission in advancing religious freedom and the rule of law in China.
