The Cec and Me Radio Show Debuts Tonight with Topic of Sexual Abuse

Contact: Twila Belk, 563-332-1622

BETTENDORF, Iowa, Oct. 5 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Cec and Me radio show debuts tonight (Tuesday, October 5) at 7-8 CT/8-9 ET on Toginet.com (toginet.com/shows/cecandme). Billed as a delightful, thoughtful, serious, and not so serious call-in show with Cecil (Cec) Murphey and Twila Belk, the show promises a blend of a fun and a variety of topics, including tough issues such as cancer, caregiving, and sexual abuse, as well as lighter topics such as writing and Christmas miracles.

The far-reaching, refreshing, faith-based, shared conversation and call-in show will at times feature special guests who have been impacted by Cecil Murphey in some way, people who in turn impact others: authors, speakers, pastors, ministry leaders, and maybe even a man who spent 90 minutes in heaven.

Because of all the recent news in the media surrounding the issue of sexual abuse, and because Murphey is a survivor of childhood sexual molestation and has written a book on that topic, tonight Cec and Twila will discuss the issue of sexual abuse and its effects. Murphey says, "The good news is that we're now reading and hearing about sexual abuse; the bad news is that it happens." Murphey urges survivors to face their abuse and to move toward healing.

Listeners are encouraged to call in with their questions or comments at 877-864-4869. Shows will be archived.

Murphey is an international speaker and bestselling author who has written or co-written more than 100 books, including the NY Times' bestseller "90 Minutes in Heaven" (with Don Piper) and "Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story" (with Dr. Ben Carson). One of his most recent books is "When a Man You Love Was Abused: A Woman's Guide to Helping Him Overcome Childhood Sexual Molestation." His books have sold millions and have given hope and encouragement to countless people around the world. He's viewed as a patriarch in the publishing industry, and many writers claim Murphey as their mentor or the father of their writing.

Belk is a writer, inspirational speaker, and conference director who also works full-time with Murphey as his manager and personal assistant. She will host the show.
