National Black Pro-Life Union Students for Social Justice Attend Kermit Gosnell Murder Trial

Contact: Rev. Clenard Childress Jr., 201-704-9325

PHILADELPHIA, April 15, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- Desiring to view first hand the murder trial of Kermit Gosnell, students from the National Black Pro-life Union traveled to Philadelphia to witness the proceedings of allegedly one of the most heinous crimes ever committed in the city of Philadelphia. President and mentor Day Gardner is outraged by the lack of main stream media coverage."

"Why is it that the children mercilessly killed by Kermit Gosnell should get less attention than the death of little Caylee Anthony, Connor Peterson or any of the other children whose lives were cut so terribly, terribly short?" Gardner asked.

Mali Wright president of students for social justice concurred, "We had to live and breath the Caylee Anthony trial each day it continued, why the media bias?"

Gosnell is charged with seven counts of first-degree murder in the killing of seven infants born alive and viable during illegal late-term abortions. He faces a possible death penalty if found guilty.

He is also charged with third-degree murder in the Nov. 19, 2009 death of a Virginia woman, Karnamaya Mongar, 41, during an abortion.

Rev Dr Clenard H. Childress Jr. Assistant National Director of L.E.A.R.N and founder of the website Blackgenocide.org commented, "I once heard Bryan Stevenson, Harvard Law School graduate comment, "The rich and the guilty are fairing better in our judicial system than the poor and the innocent" It would appear that's what Kermit Gosnell and defense attorney Jack McMahon are relying on in this trial. The next generation of leaders need to see how all this case unfolds."

Shem Niah, CEO of New York based Clergy For Better Choices states, "Our organization is following this case very closely and informing our constituents. Governor Como continues efforts to expand abortion services along, including late term abortions, which certainly would result in an escalation of such crimes in NYC. It is my understanding that the Kermit Gosenll clinic had not been inspected by state or city for years. We have the same problem here with inspections in NYC."

Rev Dr. Clenard H. Childress Jr. stated, "Kermit Gosnell should not be the only one on trial. The city of Philadelphia and the state are co-conspirators to this crime. The Gosnell clinic had not been inspected in years, barbershops and hair saloons have greater scrutiny and oversight. This is gross negligence of the worst kind."
