VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., March 23, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- From a small town of Coffeyville, Kansas to Azusa Street, to Bonnie Brae Street, to Houston and around the world, Verna Linzey is now going to Virginia Beach to preach about the baptism with the Holy Spirit at the Azusa Street Anniversary held on the campus of Regent University.

One of the remaining Generals of the Pentecostal Movement, Verna Linzey has emerged as a prominent Pentecostal Leader through her ministry on the baptism with the Holy Spirit -- the central doctrine of the Azusa Street Revival of 1906 to which she is directly linked through Ernest Williams, P.C. Nelson and Frank Boyd, each of whom, according to Russell P. Spittler in the foreword to The Baptism with the Holy Spirit by Verna Linzey, represent the classical Pentecostal tradition in which Verna Linzey stands.

This book earned Verna Linzey the "Best Non-Fiction of the Year Award" in 2006 on the birthday of the Pentecostal Movement -- the centennial of the Azusa Street Revival. This book was provided to exactly 100 Bible colleges and Bible schools by Wonsuk Ma who is the Director of the Oxford Centre for Missions Studies in Oxford, England, and Revivalist Jim Linzey (son of Verna Linzey) who is a highly decorated retired Army Chaplain and host of Operation Freedom television programs which rivalled Armed Forces television and Voice of America in Europe.

Endorsements of the book include Vinson Synan, William Menzies, Frank Macchia, Allan Anderson, Samhwan Kim and James Dunn who stated, "Verna Linzey's book is a restatement of classic Pentecostal convictions on baptism in the Spirit and speaking in tongues, with the same ingenuousness and fervour which lit the flame of Pentecostalism one hundred years ago."

One of the themes in the book -- "Eteros Parakletos/Allos Parakletos" -- was taught at the Centennial Celebration in Los Angeles in 2006 by David Yongii Cho who was the keynote speaker. Dr. Cho's translator was Dr. Samhwan Kim who read and endorsed Verna's book and serves as Rev. Cho's assistant at Yoido Full Gospel Church. The Linzey's were there listening. It would be an honor if this book impacted that message just as it has the Church around the world.
