Freedom from Chains Gives the Gift of Hope and Happiness During the Christmas Season

Contact: Alex Rosputko, Freedom From Chains, 703-204-1759

FAIRFAX, Va., Dec. 21, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- Freedom From Chains - www.FreedomFromChains.org - gives hope and happiness to special needs children during the Christmas season by volunteering at a local charity.

Freedom From Chains is a Christian missionary organization designed to bring hope to a hurting world through orphan sponsorship, native missionary sponsorship in the 1040 window, compassion ministries and local acts of service. President and CEO, Mr. Alex Rosputko, said, "Giving time and talent to serve needs in our community is what we as Christians are called to do. I'm so proud that our Board of Directors shows faith through actions by serving locally while we as an organization act globally."

Freedom From Chains Board member, Mrs. Tara Gomez, is a flutist. Recently, she had the opportunity to play her flute for children with special needs at Jill's House (www.jillshouse.org). Jill's House provides respite for children with intellectual disabilities and their families in the Greater Washington, DC area. Reflecting on her experience, Mrs. Gomez said, "I will never forget one little boy who thanked me for playing my flute. He said, 'Thank you for coming to play music for me. Music makes me feel better.' I told him that music makes me feel better, too."

Mrs. Gomez considers her opportunity to serve a win-win situation. "The children gave me the chance to perform and do what I love to do and it brought them happiness," she said. "It's like giving the gift of happiness. The hope that these children can have the same experiences as other children is what makes this so special."

When asked how people can help Freedom From Chains bring hope and happiness to a hurting world during this Christmas season, President and CEO, Mr. Alex Rosputko, said, "Serve in your local community! And join us as we change the world one life at a time. Sponsor a child, sponsor a missionary, or support a compassion ministry. Partner with Freedom From Chains and help us spread the word about orphan sponsorship, native missionary sponsorship, and compassion ministries."
