MEDIA ADVISORY, Aug. 17 /Christian Newswire/ -- The International Youth Fellowship (IYF) will be hosting the IYF World Camp at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) on Aug 22 - 26, 2010, drawing world-class musicians and local, state, and international leaders to participate in this international event.

WHO:
The International Youth Fellowship (a global Christian non-profit youth organization)

WHAT:
The IYF World Camp will bring together more than 1,000 high school and college students from around the world in an environment of cultural diversity and global unity. The World Camp's Opening Ceremony & Christmas Cantata (Christmas in Summer) will include special guests such as the Mayors of: Los Angeles, the cities of Irvine, and Cerritos as well as prominent business and educational leaders. Among the guests, we are also expecting the Consul-Generals of several countries to come and welcome the students to Los Angeles during the Opening Ceremony of the World Camp.

WHEN:
The IYF World Camp VIP Reception (Invitation Only) and Opening Ceremony will take place on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at 5:00 pm and 6:30 p.m. respectively. The Gracias Choir Christmas Cantata will be on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 6:30 p.m.
* For the students, the World Camp begins with check-in and final registration on Sunday, August 22 and continues through Thursday, August 26, 2010.

WHERE:
VIP Reception (invitation only), in the Donors Lounge, at Royce Hall; Opening Ceremony in the main auditorium of Royce Hall. All other World Camp activities will be located at various sites on the campus of UCLA.

BACKGROUND:
The mission of IYF is to develop leaders of the next generation who possess humility and strong leadership and to create mutual understanding through global fellowship, forming the basis of a bright and healthy society. The IYF was established in 1995 and today has over 200,000 members spanning 70 plus nations.
