AMARILLO, Texas, Aug. 6 /Christian Newswire/ -- Due to the recent economic downturn, many couples are postponing wedding ceremonies because of the cost. Because Trinity Fellowship Church strongly believes that couples are called to marital commitment, the Church is sponsoring "The Big Summer Wedding" on August 15 at 7:15 pm at Trinity Fellowship Church in Amarillo.

The church anticipates that up to 100 couples will enter the covenant of marriage at this event.

Jimmy Evans, Senior Elder at Trinity Fellowship Church and host of MarriageToday said, "'The Big Summer Wedding' is for couples who want to get married but may not be able to afford a large wedding, including those who have been living together as a couple and know that God is calling them into a marital commitment."

The church simply requires that all couples obtain a Texas marriage license. The church is also providing pre-marriage training and encourages all participating couples to attend.

In celebration of the event, the church will host both the ceremony for the couples and a reception including flowers, cake, photography, and other decorations. Friends and relatives of participating couples are welcome to attend the festivities.

Interested couples may obtain more information about "The Big Summer Wedding" and can complete an application at www.marriagetoday.com/bigsummerwedding.
