SAN ANTONIO, Texas, Aug. 2, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Alexander House Apostolate (TAHA) (www.thealexanderhouse.org) today announced that they will make the Covenant of Love™ parish-based marriage ministry program available free of charge. The announcement coincides with the release of the third edition, which is also scheduled to be available in Spanish this fall.

Speaking recently at the International Conference of the National Association of Catholic Family Life Ministers, Greg Alexander, president of TAHA, explained that The Alexander House is committed to the practice of stewardship, freely sharing the gifts that God has freely given.

Alexander cited the growing need to help couples live Christ-centered, joy-filled marriages. "The divorce and cohabitation rates have soared, while the marriage rate -- even within the Church -- has plummeted," he said.

"Covenant of Love is currently offered in more than 70 parishes across the country. It is extraordinarily successful at enriching and restoring marriages," Alexander continued. "A recent parish survey found that of those who have considered divorce or separation, 100 percent said they are less likely to divorce because of Covenant of Love."

Based on the teachings of the Catholic Church, the ministry is designed to educate couples about God's plan for marriage and provide practical tools for joyfully living out their vocation. It also fosters community to support marriages in the parish. Integral to the program are videos from the EWTN series Marriage Works in Christ featuring Greg and Julie Alexander. The program provides materials and complete step-by-step instructions for hosting 48 monthly date nights. It can be used to build a marriage ministry or strengthen one that already exists.

The Alexander House Apostolate is an international non-profit organization working to preserve the marriage covenant, build strong families and lower the divorce rate by proclaiming the beauty, goodness and truth of God's plan for marriage. The programs include: Covenant of Love, a parish-based marriage ministry, Marriage Disciples™, a couple-to-couple mentoring program with a parish-based component, and Made for Each Other™, a weekly radio program aired on Guadalupe Radio Network.

The Alexander House Apostolate is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, with regional offices in Detroit, Mich. and Phoenix, Ariz.
