GREENSBORO, N.C., June 28, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- National contemporary Christian recording artists Phil Wickham and Moriah Peters are coming to Greensboro for a free live concert. Billed as "Glee for God," it will be an inspirational evening of praise and worship to God. Headlining the evening is singer-songwriter Phil Wickham, whose 2011 release "Response" made it to #3 on the Christian album charts. Moriah Peters is an up-and-coming talent on the Christian music scene and former American Idol contestant who has just released her debut album, "I Choose Jesus." Opening the evening is well-known local Greensboro group, Out of the Garden Band.

The event is sponsored by two ministries -- Out of the Garden Project, which provides desperately needed food assistance to Greensboro-area families through a backpack ministry to public school children, and International Cooperating Ministries (ICM), based in Hampton, Va., which is instrumental in Church-growth initiatives around the world. As Glee for God celebrates in song, it does so with the deeper mission of connecting people with ministries working for His glory to meet the needs of children and families around the world.

"This will be a fantastic evening of music, but it is more than just a concert. We want people to come, ready to lift up their voices to God with an expectant heart, believing something beautiful will happen," said Janet Ward Black, the driving force behind Glee for God. "We want people to see a bigger picture of what God is doing for people -- for families -- right here in Greensboro and around the world. And we want them to know they are a part of it -- a part of His plan. We are thrilled to have Phil Wickham and Moriah Peters come to Greensboro specifically for our event to raise awareness of what groups like Out of the Garden and ICM are doing."

The free concert will be held 7 p.m. Friday, July 27 at Christian City Church (C3), 300 Highway 68 South, Greensboro. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. for this general admission event. For directions or more information, visit www.GleeforGod.com or www.c3greensboro.com.
