MEDIA ADVISORY, June 4 /Christian Newswire/ -- Commenting on the fact that Sen. Barack Obama has now secured his party's presidential nomination, Vision America President Dr. Rick Scarborough observed: "We don't know a lot about Sen. Obama's plans for America. On the campaign trail, he has mostly spoken in generalities. What we do know is that, if elected, he would be the least experienced man to occupy the White House in at least the last 100 years. We also know that by every conceivable measure, the charismatic Senator is a dyed-in-the-wool liberal."

Scarborough noted: "Obama has held national office a little over 3 years. Before that, he was taking calls from constituents to fix potholes in his Illinois Senate district."

Every other occupant of the White House had far more experience, prior to being elected to the nation's highest office. Scarborough: "Ronald Reagan had been governor of California for 8 years when he ran for president in 1980. Bill Clinton was a three-term governor of Arkansas. Jimmy Carter was an ex-Georgia governor. Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford -- compared to any of these men when they sought the presidency, Obama is a political neophyte."

Scarborough further noted: "Except for Bill Clinton, all of these commanders-in-chief had served in the armed forces. Obama never wore his country's uniform."

Scarborough continued: "Senator Obama is even inexperienced compared to the lady he defeated for the Democratic nomination, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton. She's served in the Senate twice as long as he – a fact recognized by Democratic primary voters. Although Obama has a majority of delegates, Clinton won the Democratic primary in every large state, without exception – California, Texas, Florida, Michigan, Pennsylvania and, of course, New York."

Besides his breathtaking lack of experience, Obama is distinguished primarily by his inveterate liberalism. Scarborough: "The National Journal rated Sen. Obama the most liberal member of the United States Senate in 2007 – more liberal than Harry Reid, Hillary Clinton or Ted Kennedy. I can't think of a single issue – foreign or domestic – where Obama deviates one iota from the left wing of his party."
