Economic Hope for America
…the Free Market Economy, the Capitalist System, and the Economic Structure on which this Country was founded

OPINION, June 28, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- President and CEO of Financial Issues Stewardship Ministries, Daniel Celia submits the following and is available for comment:

As the days quickly approach before the next election, I am going to make a statement that is sincere but strong: I believe this president will lose the next election by a large margin. What's more is that I believe this change in leadership will have a profound effect on our economy. One of the reasons I am confident I am right is because every day I hear from hundreds of unhappy Americans, representing the heart of this great nation. I also believe that because of all the good America has sown around the world, and the number of God-fearing citizens who pray for this country, God will not leave us to be guided down a destructive path by those who do not regard His will.

As I express my frustration with both the R's and D's for being so incredibly out of touch with America, and for their inability or lack of sense to see the urgency and necessity to get us on the right path. Even if it means a bit of pain to the American people and a lot of disappointment to their lobbyist and special interest groupies (neither of which I care a lick about,) we have to turn this ship around!

And despite the hype, smoke and mirrors, even when the markets are temporarily moving in a positive direction, it is important to see the overall economy continues to trend downward. I believe it is important for us to hear those numbers since the Mainstream Media is having difficulty reporting on this (not that we believe this is an accident of course). When you watch the financial networks, please remember there is a great incentive for them to report in a positive way. Most of their guests are traders who are involved in the markets where negativity among the general public is definitely not good for business. In the same way of course, politicians understand that negativity among the voters is not good for their positions.

It's no secret that it is difficult to hear anything but biased news coming from the Mainstream Media, therefore, we have to look at the trends. Trending is the only genuine tool we have, and as I've said earlier – the numbers don't lie, it is not that difficult to develop a doomsday scenario for the United States of America.

I will freely admit that I have been one who has voiced the opinion we are going over the cliff. Let me make it perfectly clear – I still believe with all my heart that if we continue down this path (the key word being "continue,") and continue to feed this ideology that appears to permeate Washington, we will end up falling off the cliff! And there does not seem to be much "will" in Washington to keep that from happening.

The Free Market Economy is extremely powerful but I think Washington believes it is so powerful they can abuse it, over-regulate it, tax it endlessly, demonize it, place burdensome health care requirements on it, penalize it, blame it for all that goes wrong and legislate it to death. Then they expect the Free Market should continue to thrive and grow our economy out of all failed government policy-issues, out of control spending, total disregard for our national debt and lack of government leadership. After all this is America right? Well, not if you change America's fundamental, founding principles!

I believe deeply in the Free Market Economy, the Capitalist System, and the Economic Structure on which this country was founded, which have made us an economic power-house like no other. I believe the free market attitude in America is still very much intact – if we would simply let it operate.

I also believe a lot of Senators who are up for votes, and Congressmen who are up for reelection, will be gone. The ideology in Washington will then begin to turn around because, once again, for the second election in a row the American people will have spoken loudly and clearly. I believe this will send the loudest message in Washington's history that we are done fooling around, and that last November was not a one-election phenomenon, but rather a wake-up call for Americans to say, "This is our country and we are taking it back!"

I believe that when the ideology changes and we begin to incentivize companies and get serious about contracting the size of government, we will see certainty develop into companies about taxes, health care, and regulation. I promise you we will be astounded at how quickly this economy can turn around as we watch the power of free markets work.

But all of this can only happen if the ideology changes. If we will remember what made this country great. We simply have to stop trying to move away from the fundamental principles upon which our nation was built. Instead, we must recall all of it and get back to the basics – get back to those wholesome, fundamental principles. I am hopeful because I believe you will join me in voicing this desire. Together we can and will make this happen and because of this I am extremely hopeful because I know that, when we do, we will see dramatic economic growth.

Friend, we both know our nation needs to take a sharp turn and get back on a road that will lead to Godly blessing and prosperity. This means blessing not only from an economic perspective, but from a moral foundation. We need to repent on behalf of our nation's rejection of God's will, and earnestly pray for a return to Godly principles in the political process and social arena. Just as importantly, we need to voice our desire, and vote for those who are like-minded.

I don't believe for one second we can separate the economic foundations that made this country great from all the moral principles upon which this country once stood. There is a direct correlation between the decay of the nation's moral fiber and the decay of our monetary system and economy. We need a president who is courageous enough to look at all of those issues – along with the issues of our economic strength.

I call you to action with me today, to boldly voice your informed opinion. When you do this, more people will realize that the only hope for America is leadership who will honor God, and return this nation to a path of obedience to His will. In this way, our God can and will bless our great nation, and restore us to a path of peace and prosperity.
