OAKLAND, Calif., April 11, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- There are no concussive explosions, 3-D graphics or dizzying fight scenes.  Yet the Christian teen romance, long-distance princess (lower-case because it is based on a screen name) consistently captivates the hearts of many guys who have seen it.  "It was so true in reality to what we think and feel," effuses Jared Taylor, 17, after one of several preview screenings.

The film resonates equally well with older men.  "It really touched me," reveals Ric David, 48. "It's a good movie (with a) lot of good story, plot..."

long-distance princess, a family-oriented, feature film, finished post-production last year.  The story revolves around a high school girl who struggles with her secret love for a boy in her art class, especially when she is confronted by his jealous and ruthless ex-girlfriend.  One of her friends, an exceptional Christian, encourages her to try applying faith to her life's situations, while he seeks her perspectives concerning a girl he likes at his church.  The trailer can be watched here.

"I wrote and directed the film clearly for young women to encourage them," explains Lionel Chew, Ph.D., a semi-finalist in three screenplay competitions and a licensed evangelical minister.  "I was quite overwhelmed with how well it's been received by a lot of guys."

"I really liked the movie," declares Kenny Chan, 45, Pastor of Chinese for Christ Church of San Jose, after the latest screening.  "It's the second time I've seen it, and this time was even better."

When he watches movies with his family, Andrew Yang, 54, admits he usually falls asleep.  But after seeing long-distance princess, he recalls, "I stayed awake from the very first to the last minute."

Paul Wilson, 54, Pastor of First Covenant Church of Oakland, believes the film appeals because it upholds the value "that grace is very real." "It was very meaningful," adds Kevin Morris, 17.  "It made a lot of sense."

Seth Young, 19, affirms, "It had a real big impact on me personally."

"The film has moved a lot of those who've seen it," concludes Chew, who is currently looking for a distribution partner.  "We're now praying that we can get long-distance princess into theaters, so it can move many more."
