Counseling Sabbaticals for Christian Women Celebrates a Year of Success

Contact: Trudy M. Johnson, 877-283-3493

BUENA VISTA, Colo., June 11, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ --  "Everyone loves my husband. He is just the best pastor. I just keep living through the episodes of his double life and I keep on going. Trouble is, keeping my husband's dark secrets is how I started dying."

These quoted words are by a pastor's wife counseled by Trudy M. Johnson, MA, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Colorado. Almost one year after starting her ministry to Christian women of all sorts, including pastors' wives and women ministry leaders, Ms. Johnson is seeing the need for the counseling sabbaticals she calls, A'nesis Retreats and Counseling Sabbaticals.

The word, "a'nesis" is a Greek word that means "comfort for the afflicted, a liberating rest." A'nesis Retreats and Counseling Sabbaticals bring confidential transformation to one Christian woman at a time.

There are very few places a pastors' wife, or Christian women in general in need of confidentiality can go. The unique combination of professional therapy, spiritual direction and trauma resolution has equipped Ms. Johnson for what she believes to be "an end- times ministry."

"The Body of Christ is in desperate need of transformation from the inside out," states Ms. Johnson. "Salt and light are dimmed by cultural influences." Held at the beautiful Sanctuary in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, A'nesis Retreats and Counseling Sabbaticals since June 19 of 2011 has provided Christian women a safe place to heal and re-connect spiritually.

While some women come just to get away to a quiet place to receive insight and guidance for the next season in their lives, others arrive with serious life issues staring them in the face. "It is an awesome privilege to walk with the broken-hearted. Each story and situation is so unique. Each therapy plan is geared to individual situations," Ms. Johnson, who is on the Focus on the Family counselor referral list, told a recent interviewer.

"My clients love the fact that they can stay in their sweats and not have to put their make-up on. This makes it doubly easy to have a good cry." Trudy jokingly told George Carden of UNI News, "I don't consider it's been a good week unless we've gone through a box of Kleenex."

A'nesis Retreats and Counseling Sabbaticals has also established a non-profit organization to help raise money for counseling scholarships for Christian women in need.
