PORTLAND, June 11 /Christian Newswire/ -- On Saturday, July 26, acclaimed contemporary Catholic musician Sarah Hart will travel to Portland to lead "Daughters of God: Day of Reflection," a retreat designed especially for women of faith. The event is co-sponsored by OCP and the St. Philip Neri Catholic Church Woman as Witness Symposium. All activities will be hosted at the parish.

Known for her lively blend of folk and pop that delights listeners of all ages and backgrounds, Sarah writes music that explores the transforming power of faith. Her dynamic energy makes her retreats and concerts unforgettable experiences. A recipient of six Unity Awards for her music, Sarah is also a staff songwriter for spiritandsong.com, the contemporary music division of OCP.

"I recognize that women work very hard—in their jobs, for their families and for the Church," says Hart. "We spend a lot of time giving, nurturing and sacrificing, and often we don't take a lot of time to nurture ourselves spiritually. The Daughters of God events allow women to focus on their relationship with God and enter into fellowship with other women. Plus, it's just a whole lot of fun."

Packed with prayer, stories, laughter, small-group interaction and music, this retreat—based on the bestselling OCP Daughters of God recording—gives women the opportunity to see what makes them unique and yet connected to one another, through reflection on the women of Scripture. Attendees will have the chance to share, listen and minister to one another.

The day begins at 8:30 a.m. and includes morning coffee, prayer time, two hours of study on four women of the Old Testament, lunch, two more hours of study on four women of the New Testament and closing prayer. Sarah will close out the evening with a free concert, open to everyone in the community.

Registration for the workshop is $30. All retreat sessions will be held in Carvlin Hall and the concert will take place in the main church. St. Philip Neri Catholic Church is located at 2449 SE Tamarack Ave., Portland, Ore. To register, contact Barbara Harrison at 503-231-4955 or barbarah@stphilipneripdx.org.
