FRANKLIN, Tenn., June 13, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- We are pleased to announce that Free for Life International was awarded $10,000.00 in the Human Trafficking category following a recent Giving of Life challenge. Supporters of Free for Life cast nearly 1,200 votes for the organization.

"This truly was a group effort" states Colette Bercu, C.E.O. "We had an unprecedented outpouring of support. We would like to thank all of you who voted for us. We also want to thank Giving of Life (www.givingoflife.com) and Lee Company of Nashville for choosing to present this award to our organization. Both of these organizations have shown a sincere commitment to make a difference in the current fight against human trafficking. We salute their efforts."

Free for Life International is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Franklin, Tennessee. Free for Life was formed in 2006 with a vision to support shelters around the world who are providing love, hope, and restoration to survivors of sex trafficking. "Our shelters truly provide a home, and are often the only family these girls will know" according to Colette Bercu. "They offer unconditional love, a future, and a hope."

In addition to shelter support, Free for Life awards scholarships to survivors of sex trafficking, and provides complete funding for two border interception stations that have been highly successful in preventing the trafficking of young Nepali women into India, and Tibet respectively.

"To this date we have rescued nearly 200 girls, and brought approximately a dozen traffickers to justice" states Bercu. "Our border interception programs are among the most successful anti-trafficking efforts in that part of the world."
