Douglas Shaw & Associates' New Office to Mark Agency's Dallas Debut

Nonprofit Fundraiser Builds Team of Seasoned, Local Professionals

WEST CHICAGO, Feb. 1, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- Douglas Shaw & Associates (DSA), one of the nation's largest nonprofit fundraising and communications firms, will soon open a Dallas office to serve new and existing clients in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and the Southwest.

"Establishing a presence in one of America's largest, dynamic markets is major step forward for our expanding agency," said Doug Shaw, chairman and chief executive officer of the Chicago-based company. "It also gives us access to the large pool of professional talent in the Dallas area."

Shaw said the company's Dallas operations began Jan. 3, and it is looking for office space that will allow it to add additional staff as it achieves anticipated growth.  

The Dallas office will extend DSA's range of diverse services available to the faith-based and broader nonprofit community, including direct-mail initiatives, multi-channel marketing and fundraising campaigns, broadcast media, social media, newsletter and annual report preparation, and coordination of special events. It will be backed by professionals in Chicago, including Shaw. 

DSA has named a team of experienced professionals to lead the new office, including Billy Vaudry as vice president and creative director. Vaudry offers more than 20 years of experience serving the nonprofit community in direct-response fundraising Initiatives. Other key personnel include:

  • Richard Johnson, associate creative director/design who has more than 15 years experience in direct response for non-profits and corporations. Previously Johnson worked as art director and associate creative director with other direct mail and design firms.
     
  • Anna Averling, senior consultant with more than 10 years' experience in the fundraising and marketing for the nonprofit arena. Averling was the 2009 recipient of the Direct Marketing Association’s International ECHO Award.
     
  • Jery Wilson, art director and veteran graphic designer, who has served nonprofits for four years. Wilson's tenure includes stints at a large national nonprofit and with a firm that specializes in nonprofit fundraising.
     
  • Casey Colvin, art director, has worked for nonprofits for two years as a graphic designer, production artist and photographer, specializing in design for nonprofits.
     
  • Shelly Roark, a seasoned copywriter with more than a decade of serving nonprofits, from broadcast ministries to international relief and development organizations to domestic humanitarian groups.
