ENUMCLAW, Wash., Sept. 30 /Christian Newswire/ -- According to the 2009 Alzheimer's Disease Facts and Figures Report, one American develops Alzheimer's disease every 70 seconds. "In 2008, 9.9 million family members, friends and neighbors provided unpaid care for a person with Alzheimer's disease or other dementia." By the year 2050, it is estimated that nearly 13.2 million people in the United States will be affected.

Birthed out of her own experience with her mother's Alzheimer's and her insights as a Christian counselor, Gerber discusses diagnosis and treatment during the mild, moderate and severe stages of Alzheimer's. Other topics include:

• Practical suggestions for preparing for a successful Dr's. visit

• Ten warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease

She is also a retired owner and operator of Gerber Construction as well as a developer. Married to her high school sweetheart for 36 years, Gerber and her husband make their home in Ohio.
