NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J., Sept. 17 /Christian Newswire/ -- Reporters, photographers and camera crews are welcome to cover the kick off of the New Brunswick Awakening Revival, an international interdenominational religious service, to be held at New Brunswick Theological Seminary (NBTS), the first and oldest seminary in North America, on Saturday, September 18, 2010. All generations are invited.

The convener and dean of students at NBTS, Dr. Jessica Davis, believes we are on the eve of a spiritual awakening in the nation.

"We are at the beginning of a spiritual awakening and a new generation of leadership is required to respond to tremendous needs locally, nationally and globally."

The event is free but we invite everyone to bring two can goods for the NJ Food Bank. The monetary donations received from the Revival will be given to a new endowed scholarship fund, the New Brunswick Awakening Scholarship Fund at NBTS. The recipients of the Fund will be chosen by the NBTS Scholarship Committee annually. The New Brunswick Awakening Scholars will be first year seminarians identified as up and coming community leaders in urban ministry who are committed to social justice.
