WASHINGTON, Jan. 15 /Christian Newswire/ -- The "First Ladies' Inaugural Tea" event will take place on Monday, January 19, 2009 at 1 pm in the Grand Ballroom of the Willard InterContinental Hotel in Washington, D.C.

The non partisan event is being held for prayer, thanksgiving and fellowship based on II Chronicles 7:14. "If my people will humble themselves and pray and turn from their wickedness, then I will hear from heaven and forgive their sins and heal their land." Merrie Turner, a right to life advocate has hosted the event every four years since 1997 and will be attending along with special music guests Alberto and Kimberly Rivera of Nashville, TN.

Mike Huckabee has been invited to speak and pray for the nation as well as Congressman Randy Forbes of the "Congressional Prayer Caucus." Pearl Dexter, nationally renowned author and editor of "TEA A MAGAZINE" will share excerpts of her best selling book "Tea with Presidential Families." She collaborated with Serendipitea to create "Obama 44" Kenyan tea commemorating the inauguration of the 44th President of the Untied States.

Woodmere China Co. is providing "Flowers of the First Ladies" and "The Presidents" White House Collection tea pots and cups for center pieces.
