Worldwide Marriage Encounter Names New North American Secretariat Support Staff Coordinators

AUSTIN, TX, Dec. 16 /Christian Newswire/ -- The North American Secretariat (NASET) for Worldwide Marriage Encounter announced today the appointment of their four support staff coordinators (SSC) for the next three years.  The announcement was made by Jose & Marilyn Garcia and Fr. Mitch Walters, the NASET ecclesial team.

"Together with us, Eric and Lupita Goodwin and Father John Persaud as the Canada Ecclesial Leadership Team, and Scott and Karen Seaborn and Father Tom Griffith as the US Ecclesial Leadership Team; the SSC  now completes the Leadership Council for our North American Secretariat," explained Jose & Marilyn and Fr. Mitch. They added, "As servant leaders of our movement, we will be working closely with the many couples and priests that give so generously of themselves to renew the Sacraments of Matrimony and Holy Orders on behalf of the Catholic church in the US and Canada." 

Jesus & Lilla Ibarra of Dearborn, MI and Fr. Francois Pellissier of Cincinnati, OH were named the Community Pillar coordinators, Tom and Mary Frances Burke of Casper, WY and Fr. Dennis Hughes of Tampa, FL were named the Team Pillar, Jerry and Fran Ashe of West Bloomfield, MI and Fr. Joe Voor of Louisville, KY were named the Structure Pillar, while Dick and Diane Baumbach of Merritt Island, FL and Fr. Dick Morse of Toledo, OH were named the Weekend Pillar. 

The pillar system created by WWME is organized under four "pillars".  A pillar is defined as "that which strongly supports a work or cause."  Each Pillar supports the  vision  and  mission  of  WWME  by  providing  for  specific  needs  within  the movement.

The Weekend Pillar is responsible for the development, implementation and coordination of marketing and inviting efforts that support the WWME Weekend or Experience.  The Presenting Team Pillar is responsible for coordination efforts before, and in preparation for a WWME Weekend.  The Structure Pillar is responsible for oversight of the 501(c)(3) non-profit status of WWME in each Section in the United States, while the Community Pillar is responsible for the development, implementation and coordination of community involvement following the WWME Weekend/Experience.   

Worldwide Marriage Encounter recently celebrated its 40th anniversary and its presence in over 90 countries makes it the largest pro-marriage movement in the world.  In the United States, the movement is divided into 19 sections based on geography and language (English, Spanish and Korean), while in Canada it is divided into six districts (English and French).
