Will Homeschooled Children Bring the Election Home for Romney?

Contact: Ana Rojas, Homeschoolers for Romney, 786-427-4089

MIAMI, Oct. 19, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- An 11 year old boy believes he holds the key for a Romney victory in a few weeks -- motivating the base. And, he is determined to energize the homeschooling vote in particular.

"There are millions of homeschooling families in this country," said Ethan, an articulate home-educated child, "If they were fired up to come out for Mitt and if they each persuaded a few others to vote for him, too -- wow -- this election would not be so close. Romney would finish way ahead."

To convince and motivate the homeschooling base, Ethan and his group, Homeschoolers for Romney, are sponsoring a video contest. Children between the ages of 5 and 18, who are currently being homeschooled, will make a short video, from thirty seconds to three minutes on "Why You Need to Vote for Mitt Romney."

The first place winner will receive $500, second place, $250 and third place, $125.

Creativity is encouraged -- from making a persuasive speech, to doing a skit, using animation, or even singing a song. Complete contest rules and on-line submission form are available at www.HomeschoolersForRomney.com.

Ethan hopes the children will send their video not just to his site, but to "grandmas and grandpas who are undecided, as well as friends who are on the fence."

"A really big concern of mine is that a lot of homeschoolers and other Christians across the nation are saying they are going to go third party in this presidential election," Ethan said, "That would be disastrous. If they go third party, they are basically voting for Obama."

"I myself was in favor of Ron Paul during the primary, but the primary is over. We need to vote for Romney now because every vote counts in a close election." Ethan explained, "I know Romney is not perfect, but he is our best bet to preserve the Constitution. Studying the Constitution is a passion of mine, and this president has overstepped the powers of the executive branch many times. Also, family values are at stake."

"This video contest gives homeschooled kids a chance to have their voices heard in this super important election," explained Ethan. "Let's get busy -- pray, make your video and send it to www.HomeschoolersforRomney.com." Deadline for entry submission is November 5, 2012.
