ROCKFORD, Ill., Aug. 4 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Pro-Life Action League will bring its Face the Truth Tour to Rockford on August 10, 2010. Organized by the League in conjunction with the Rockford Pro-Life Initiative, the mission of the Face the Truth Tour is to educate the public about the human cost of abortion by deploying dozens of graphic pictures of aborted and unborn babies and distributing pro-life literature. This is the seventh consecutive year the Face the Truth Tour has stopped in Rockford, where tension has erupted in recent years around the Northern Illinois Women's Clinic and its notorious and macabre pro-abortion window displays.

"We want to expose to truth about abortion to the public, and graphic images are an extremely powerful way to do this," said Eric Scheidler, executive director of the Pro-Life Action League. "It may be disturbing to some, but it should be disturbing to all of us -- the killing of an unborn baby in his or her mother's womb is a terrible tragedy that happens more than 3,400 times every single day in America."

The Face the Truth Tour will make the following stops in Rockford: For maps of each location, please visit prolifeaction.org/truth/tours.php.

- 9:30 -11:00 a.m. at Riverside Boulevard and Alpine Road
