Christian Company Increases Kids' Biblical Knowledge by Using Modern Technology

TEANECK, N.J., Nov. 11 /Christian Newswire/ -- Creation By Design announced today that they are shipping new products that help Christian parents educate their children about the Bible by using the same technology that kids enjoy. According to Steven Kaye, Founder and Chief Creative Officer, "I heard a prominent Christian pastor say that Christianity can't win the battle for kids' attention with the assault coming from technology. In the face of television, computers and video games, Christianity could lose its relevance." As an artist and a parent, Kaye observed that as children reached school age, they began to see the hand drawn animation of their storybooks and videos as "kid stuff". Children aspire to play with products that use the computer-generated imagery (CGI) they saw in their older sibling's video and computer games.

After developing over 200 images of Biblical characters and events using that technology, the company rolled out their first product, "My Bible Cards", in 2008. The products are now in hundreds of Christian bookstores, comic and specialty stores. A second series of Old Testament cards will ship before Christmas with the first series of New Testament cards shipping by Easter.

Knowing that a key part of new technology is having products available in multiple formats, the company has published two book lines utilizing the images. The first is a chapter book designed for ages 6-8 that features nine-year-old explorer, Xander Nash. In each adventure, Xander travels back in time to meet Bible heroes. Kids are learning their Bible stories in a format that they enjoy. The second book product is a line of Activity books for kids that use puzzles and games to teach kids their Bible stories.

Other new products include posters and postcards. The opportunity to utilize the images is unlimited. The company is working on licensing deals to use the images on t-shirts, bags, gifts and other items. The company is also working on a Bible card game called "BibleStrike". Kaye envisions taking the images into other forms of technology used by the tech-savvy youth of today, such as video or computer games. Maybe the next 3D animated or live action movie could be the adventures of Xander Nash. If the company is successful, look for Christianity to be relevant to today's kids for years to come.
