Provident Designs' first software product gives parents editing control over DVD movies

Christian Newswire/ -- Provident Designs LLC is pleased to announce new Windows software that gives parents complete editing control over content in DVD movies. The new software, named "enJoy Movies Your Way," allows parents and their children to comfortably enjoy a movie "your way" without having to worry about stumbling upon unwanted scenes.
"enJoy Movies Your Way" is the first product from the newly launched Provident Designs LLC. Founder of Provident Designs LLC, Traci Dysart, was inspired to create the new software when her ten-year-old son wanted to watch the movie Transformers, which is rated PG-13.
"Transformers is an inspiring movie about good versus evil and I wanted to show it to him, but it has violence and sexual content that I didn't want my young son to see," said Ms. Dysart. "I spent hours looking online for a tool I could use to skip over the parts I considered inappropriate for him. I discovered that there wasn't such a tool available, so I decided to make one."
The new software allows parents to watch a movie and evaluate each scene. Parents can then assign a category and an intensity level on a scale of one (low) to five (extreme) using the Scene Intensity Rating Scale (SIR Scale). The SIR Scale is designed to ensure consistency in identifying violence and other graphic content.
The DVD movie filters can be tailored to different members of the household. Parents can create a profile for each member of the family and select the category and intensity level appropriate for the viewer.
"One of the best features of the enJoy software program is that it gives parents total control over the movie experience," says Ms. Dysart. "Parents don't have to rely on what someone else says is appropriate for their family; they can decide for themselves."
