Husbands and Wives in PA Celebrate Valentine's Day the Old-Fashioned Way

Contact: Deborah Hamilton, PA4Marriage Coalition, 215-815-7716

HARRISBURG, Penn., Feb. 14 /Christian Newswire/ -- Husbands and wives in Pennsylvania are celebrating Valentine's Day the old-fashioned way –with flowers, dinner, cards and candy.

Deborah Hamilton, spokesperson for the PA4Marriage Coalition stated, "It seems that most husbands and wives in Pennsylvania are happy with the simple, traditional celebrations for Valentine's Day. For others, Valentine's Day seems to have become a lifestyle statement and has lost some of its meaning in our modern culture. We just want to wish husbands and wives and their families a very Happy Valentine's Day and commend them for celebrating this tradition with simplicity and taking the opportunity to demonstrate their love and commitment to each other."

Many husbands and wives marry on Valentine's Day and the PA4Marriage Coalition would like to thank Senator Mike Brubaker and 16 bi-partisan co-sponsors for introducing Senate Bill 1250 which protects marriage in Pennsylvania as the union of a man and a woman and calls for a constitutional amendment in order to preclude the law from being overturned. Constituents can encourage their legislators to vote in support of this bill and let them know that Pennsylvanians want to keep marriage between one man and one woman in our state.

A new scientific study was conducted to determine what Pennsylvanians feel about this issue and it was discovered that 67% of Pennsylvanians want marriage to remain between one man and one woman and 72% want to be able to vote on this issue at the ballot box.
