KANSAS CITY, Mo., Aug. 23, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Board of Directors of Stonecroft Ministries, Inc. announces with pleasure that Lorraine Potter Kalal will assume the position of Stonecroft Ministries' President and CEO, effective September 17, 2012. Vera Velk, Chairman of the Board said, "We are thrilled that Lorraine has accepted the call to lead Stonecroft Ministries. Her business acumen, passion for and experience in ministry, and her love for Jesus Christ make her the perfect candidate to lead Stonecroft forward. The entire Board anticipates with excitement the new directions that the Lord will take this ministry as Lorraine follows Him and leads our staff and volunteers."

Mrs. Kalal brings to Stonecroft Ministries more than 25 years experience in the for-profit sector and has many years volunteering in ministry positions through the local church and parachurch evangelistic ministries. She entered full-time ministry with her previous position as Director of Marketing and Development for Operation Inasmuch, Inc., a Knoxville, Tennessee-based non-profit that equips churches to mobilize their congregants to serve the needy of their communities.

Mrs. Kalal said upon accepting the call to lead Stonecroft: "I cannot think of anything more exciting than working full time to introduce women to a saving relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ! I am awed and humbled by Stonecroft's nearly 75-year legacy by which thousands of staff and volunteers have had an eternal impact upon untold numbers of lives around the world. I look forward with great anticipation to working with the Stonecroft family as we share the Gospel with many more spiritually needy women in the future."

Mrs. Kalal's corporate experience spans marketing, product management, consulting, strategy, and executive (CEO) roles in technology-based companies. She also taught Business and Economics at The King's College and consulted with small companies and nonprofits. In the ministry arena, Mrs. Kalal served as Associate (volunteer) Staff with Campus Crusade for Christ's Executive Ministries, was on the founding team of a major evangelical church in New York City, spent a year as a missionary in Moscow, Russia (formerly USSR), and served as Chairman of the Board of House of Courage, a home for single teen mothers and their children. Lorraine received her BS in Computer Science from Duke University and her MBA in Finance from the Wharton School, the University of Pennsylvania. Lorraine and her husband Rick, a pastor, have two daughters: Charlotte, 14, and Corinne, 10.

The Board is confident that with this appointment Stonecroft Ministries has both the spiritual and business leadership to build on its existing strengths and develop new means of reaching women who need the Savior and for Stonecroft Ministries to have a Gospel impact on women's lives for years to come.

About Stonecroft Ministries, Inc.
Mrs. Helen Duff Baugh established The Christian Business Women's Council of America in 1938 as a dinner program in which the Gospel of Jesus Christ was presented to career women in cities across America. When the ministry's national headquarters re-located in 1952 to the Stonecroft estate in Kansas City, Missouri, the group of outreach ministries took on the property's name.
