ENUMCLAW, Wash., Jan. 5 /Christian Newswire/ -- In a world that seems at times to be spinning out of control, does the Bible provide answers to this modern dilemma?

Attorney and Professor Paul Barnard examines this question in his latest book, "The Everlasting Covenant and Its Third Party Beneficiaries," released by Wine Press Publishing Group. He remarks, "Regardless of political alliance or religious sensitivity, one scarcely avoids facing the issue of the meaning of life."

Barnard, a Florida native who currently lives on a small ranch in central Florida, has more than thirty-five years active legal experience. He has worked in the academic forum as a professor and writer and in the public sector as an FBI agent and assistant public defender. Co-founder and first president of the Christian Legal Society, he draws on his knowledge of law and theology to compare what he calls "our derivative legal system" with the divine law, that he labels "the dominant" system.

The title of Barnard's book comes from his belief in an everlasting covenant, that he also calls a Divine Agency Agreement, between the three members of the triune God. Barnard comments, "The main premise of my book is to highlight the. . .supreme sovereignty of God." Barnard's view of the universe is based upon, in his words, "a single, transcendent Plan that is initiated and controlled by the Creator God."

"The Bible is the greatest law book ever written," Barnard writes. He examines the theological and legal definitions and applications of the terms 'covenant,' 'election,' and 'justification,' as well as terms not often associated with discussion of divine law such as 'ratification' and 'Christian spiritual rights.'

Barnard states, "God's Everlasting Covenant reminds us that God did not set the universe in motion and then go off and leave it to run itself." He is confident that people who have questions about the nature, attributes, and activities of God will find some answers in his discussion.
