Contact: Matt Dickerson, 918-619-3837

MANITOBA, Canada, Dec. 12, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- Faithbuddy, Inc. (Faithbuddy), a developer of social networking software and technology, has officially launched its campaign to raise funds for Faithbuddy.com, a Christ-centered devotional and social network.

The Faithbuddy platform incorporates new technology for privacy management and unique features to help people track and share their prayer. Faithbuddy.com has run live in private testing for many months, and a public alpha release is expected very shortly. Faithbuddy will use the funds raised in its crowdfunding campaign to support continued development and to grow www.Faithbuddy.com to a self-sustaining level.

And thanks to a growing number of supporting Christian artists and authors, Faithbuddy backers who donate to the campaign at www.faithbuddy.com will enjoy some incredible benefits.

"We wanted to bless our backers with something more than memberships and tee-shirts," said Faithbuddy president Trent Coroy. "At the same time we thought we saw an opportunity to honor and promote some folks who combine their creative excellence with an evident pursuit of Jesus Christ. So we reached out -- and have received so many gracious and generous responses in support of what we're doing! We're very thankful."

Visual art benefits include downloadable high resolution images of award-winning paintings suitable for digital picture frames, screensavers and computer desktop backgrounds; a collection of art and scripture to be published in a calendar format; limited edition giclee prints; and original paintings. Contributing visual artists include world-class talents such as 17-year-old artist prodigy Josh Tiessen (Canada), Kelly Dodge (Canada), James Tughan (Canada), Lorna Hamilton (Ireland) and Susie Gordon (USA).

Speaker and Author Carla Anne Coroy will be providing signed copies of her award-winning book Married Mom, Solo Parent. Pastor and Author Brad Huebert has also contributed his downloadable Ebook Beloved: Some Fairy Tales Are True. And music downloads will be available from artists such as Robin Mark (courtesy of Integrity Music) and Eden's Rose.

Faithbuddy's contributors have also taken time to share testimonies about Jesus.

"What we're doing here -- it's all about Jesus. He's the whole point," said Trent Coroy. "So we challenged ourselves and our contributors to share about him. These testimonies go way beyond the fluff, they are powerful, visceral and real."

For more information about these and other Faithbuddy feature artists and authors, including image and video galleries and their testimonies about Jesus, please visit the contributors page in the donate section of Faithbuddy.com: www.faithbuddy.com/out/contributors.php.

About James Tughan
James Tughan is a professional visual artist working in the world of fine art, illustration and education at all age levels. James is the founder of the Semaphore Fellowship and currently serves on the Faculty of Fine Art at Redeemer University College, Ancaster, Ontario, Canada. One of the world's foremost pastel artists, his "Cartographic Realism" is a marriage of aerial visual mapping, natural symbolism, and a Christian theology of the person. It respectfully draws metaphors for the seen and unseen world of spirit from the natural surface topography of the visual subject matter itself. It exploits amazing detail and surface patterning, texture, colour, lighting and narrative possibilities. This style infers that there is more to see than what immediately meets the eye; more suggested by mapping, the mapping of
ideas. For more information, visit
