Finding the Majesty in Ordinary Things to Praise God

CHICO, Calif., March 16 /Christian Newswire/ -- Children have the ability to see beyond a familiar object and find something wonderful - a cloud could be a ship sailing across the sky; a fish could be a submarine leading to all kinds of adventures. Inspired by Christ, who spoke and taught parables using familiar everyday things, author Joyce E. Chapman offers readers short messages of inspiration to turn what they ordinarily see into opportunities to praise God in her new book, Father, I Love You (published by AuthorHouse).

Chapman believes prayer is a natural part of being a Christian and the thoughts presented in Father, I Love You are designed to teach a way of turning what is seen and experienced into praise, petition and question. The book is a source of sharing faith with others, showing appreciation to God and spending daily devotional moments with Him. Chapman has gathered personal letters to create her new book and help readers see daily possibilities to glorify God in a different way. Chapman writes:

"Father, when I started our car this morning, I was greeted by a quiet, smooth-running engine. I have never paid particular attention to this blessing. Thoughts started knocking at my heart's door: a message is trying to get through to me. Why is it that when things are going along smoothly, I accept them without thought other than, "That's the way it is supposed to 'run.' I may just continue with what I'm doing without any thought towards the blessing that I'm receiving. I would never overlook my gratitude toward someone's kind and thoughtful action. I would thank them and show my appreciation in an appropriate way. But, when it is a life's blessing coming from You, I am slow to recognize the magnitude of Your goodness or to realize that it is, indeed, a blessing."

At times, everyone needs inspiration to help get through the day and keep their minds on the right track for living a Christian life. It is easy to get caught up in the busyness and emotion of this world. Christ, however, cautioned his followers not to be distracted but instead to consider the miracles around them, to be in awe of God's creation and to learn.
