'God And Government Project' Seeks to Remind Elected Officials That Government is from God and Must Obey God

Contact: John Lofton, 301-873-4612, JLof@aol.com

PASADENA, Calif., Oct. 9, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- The "Institute on the Constitution" has launched "The God And Government Project" the purpose of which is to remind elected officials, and those who seek civil government offices, that government is from God and their first duty must be to obey God and His Word (Romans 13.) John Lofton, Director of the Project says:

"Governments at all levels in our country -- Federal, state and local -- are in a chaotic mess because they have disregarded the Word of God which strictly limits what government is authorized to do. Sad to say there is almost no preaching on this important topic in our churches. But, Scripture makes it very clear that nations that ignore God, that refuse to kiss His blessed Son (Psalm 2), commit suicide. Godly government is the solution to the mess in Washington DC."

"The God And Government Project" seeks volunteers from across the country to witness to their local governing bodies by reading prepared statements during the general comment period before meetings officially start.
