Christian Newswire/ -- How can a tale about jolly old St. Nick bring to light the real reason behind Christmas?! It happens in Scripture Release's audio-book, MIRACLE AT CABBAGEHEAD PASS. The 57 minute, seven-chapter dramatization sub-titled: "A Christmas Story of Wonder and Forgiveness," was created by author and composer, Dave Cook.
"It began several years ago," Cook says. "American children were eagerly awaiting the arrival of Polar Express. The movie and its message awoke in me a desire to respond with a Christian- based narrative. One that contained not only an element of traditional Christmas fantasy, but also of Biblical faith that a child could understand and take to heart."
In MACP Santa is presented in a stark new light. Christmas night deliveries are plagued with sickness and foul weather. Forced down in blizzard conditions, Santa and his team of reindeer stumble into punishing trials as conditions go from bad to worse. Proceeding through danger and discouragement to despair and anger, strength returns with the aid of a "miraculous stranger." The story also introduces a new Christmas song, "Remember The Reason." Cook added, "I think that Saint Nicholas, the historic 4th century bishop, would be pleased. MACP reveals a very human Santa. An old man with a need of grace and forgiveness. The same things that children and parents need today."
About Dave Cook: Dave has been composing for over 40 years. He has written numerous Christmas carols along with a number of performance pieces. His main focus has been in writing songs with scripture texts. To that end www.scripturerelease.com was created in 2001.
