NAMPA, Idaho, Feb. 4 /Christian Newswire/ -- During the month of February the Christian Television Network (CTN) will televise an international program featuring the ministry of MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship) in Kalimantan, Indonesia, on the island of Borneo.

The 30-minute episode of "All Over the World," which will air on local stations and by satellite, highlights the ongoing efforts of MAF missionaries to improve the lives of the residents of Kalimantan, and to reach them with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

MAF is a faith-based, nonprofit ministry that serves missions and isolated people around the world with aviation, communications and learning technologies. "All Over the World" (www.AOTW.TV) showcases the day-to-day work of missionaries on the front lines of ministry.

Ian Skelley, the series creator and producer, said CTN chose to feature MAF because of the valuable perspective on missions its people can offer viewers.

"These missionaries are bush pilots, mechanics and wives, but they are so much more. Their lives are a combination of spirituality and adventure - facing dangers every day while doing God's work," Skelley said.

All the interior villages depend greatly on MAF flights. The film crew was able to capture several life saving flights to airlift gravely ill people from the jungle.

MAF video producer Ron Wormser traveled with the television crew for a week in Borneo, the world's third-largest island, located in the South China Sea.

"I'm always impressed with the quality and commitment of the staff serving in such isolated places," said Wormser, who will be assisting CTN in producing additional episodes about MAF. The next two programs will feature MAF service in Haiti and Lesotho.

The MAF segment will be broadcast on CTN stations starting the week of Feb. 9. Viewers should check local listings for dates and times. Satellite providers DirecTV, Dish Network and Sky Angel will also televise the show, at 7:30 p.m. EST Friday and at 3 p.m. EST Saturday.

The Christian Television Network (www.ctnonline.com) grew from Florida's first Christian television station, founded in Pensacola in 1979. Soon more stations were added, and CTN was born. CTN provides unique, wholesome, award-winning programming for the entire family, reaching a potential audience of more than 15 million viewers. Through its international satellite, CTN has the potential to reach 500 million people.

Founded in the United States in 1945, MAF (www.MAF.org) missionary teams of aviation, communications, technology and education specialists overcome barriers in remote areas, transform lives and build God's Kingdom by enabling the work of more than 1,000 organizations in isolated areas of the world. With its fleet of 134 bush aircraft, MAF serves in 54 countries, with an average of 281 flights daily across Africa, Asia, Eurasia and Latin America. MAF pilots transport missionaries, medical personnel, medicines and relief supplies, as well as conduct thousands of emergency medical evacuations in remote areas. MAF also provides telecommunications services, such as satellite Internet access, high-frequency radios, electronic mail and other wireless systems.
