OVERLAND PARK, Kan., May 11, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- A very special, high-level soccer camp will take place this summer in Metro Kansas City and Green Bay, Wisconsin.  Known as the Catholic Soccer Camps, or "CSC," it is an intense and gratifying camp that combines high-level soccer training with Catholicism.  The CSC incorporates daily mass, confession and praise & worship into its weekly schedule. Campers are encouraged to grow in their faith while accelerating their soccer skills in a competitive environment.

The CSC camp is designed for youth and young adult campers (male and female alike) from the  ages of 7 to 17 .  The Kansas City camp will take place  from July 18th to July 22nd  at  Rockhurst University .  The Green Bay camp will take place from  July 11th to July 15th  on the campus of  St. Norbert College .

Featured at the Catholic Soccer Camps are coaches Massimo Carli and Luigi "Gigi" Dusatti, two professional-level coaches and scouts from Italy.  Massimo Carli is the coach of Trento Calcio in the Italian Serie D, as well as the Regional Select Coach in the Verona Region of Italy.  He is the former Head Youth Coach (U-16) for Verona Calcio in the Italian professional league, and is the former Head Coach of Castelnuovo in northern Italy (Serie D). Massimo played in the Italian Serie D and Interregionale throughout his career. Gigi Dusatti is the Head Youth Manager for Rovereto Calcio in the north of Italy, and served in a similar role with Trento Calcio as well. He has played in the Italian Serie D and is a pro scout and advisor for numerous professional clubs in Italy.

Founder and Head Coach of the CSC, Antonio Soave, said, "This is a very good opportunity for young soccer players to hone their skills while enhancing their Catholic faith.  It is literally an exemplification of faith in action.  Due to their overwhelming commitment to sports, athletes have a tendency to become great witnesses for the faith."

Catholic Soccer Camps is operated in collaboration with Varsity Catholic (a division of the Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS)) and Catholic Athletes for Christ (based in Washington, D.C.).  For more information or to sign up for the camp, call Anthony Martinez at 913-549-4871, email the camp at martinez@CapistranoGlobal.com and/or log onto the CSC web site at www.CatholicSoccerCamps.com.
