SAN DIEGO, Jan. 30, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- In an effort to increase funding for orphan care services, a new real estate referral program, Helping Orphans Thru Real Estate, has been established. It provides sellers and buyers an opportunity to identify industry professionals willing to pay a referral fee, which will be used to support orphan care. Although the program originated in San Diego, it operates nationwide. It was designed by Dennis Archer, foster care social worker and member of the San Diego Association of REALTORS®, as a way to impact the global orphan care movement's growing needs and declining dollars.
Millions of orphans across the world are not having their basic needs met despite the existence of numerous programs designed to serve them. The need is staggering and is largely affected by issues of poverty, inadequate medical care, children languishing in orphanages, and the increasing problems of child prostitution and sexual trafficking.
The goal of this new fundraising program is to generate financial support for orphan care agencies that have proven to be trustworthy and well managed. Sellers and buyers of residential or commercial real estate will receive assistance in selecting real estate professionals in their communities who have signed on to participate in this program. Each completed real estate transaction will generate several hundred dollars for orphan care. There is no cost to buyers and sellers who will be invited to recommend projects to be funded.
Dennis Archer is an active REALTOR®, CalBRE # 01313682, with Red Tree Realty in San Diego and a member of local, state and national REALTOR® associations. He is also a member of the Christian Alliance for Orphans as well as an active member of a local non-profit orphan care agency.
