DALLAS, May 12 /Christian Newswire/ -- Joni and Marcus Lamb, founders of Daystar Television Network, the fastest-growing Christian network, are hosting the 8th annual Refreshing Times Conference on Aug. 20-22 at the Omni Hotel in Fort Worth, Texas, to offer hope and inspiration during difficult days.

"Times are harder than ever before," said Joni Lamb, vice president of Daystar and executive producer and host of the "Joni" show. "With a tight economy on top of the pressures of everyday life, we know that people are tired and stressed. So many individuals are juggling responsibilities at home, church or work. That's why we cater the Refreshing Times Conference to the spiritual and mental needs of men and women, providing a time to get away and re-energize."

This yearly event draws in attendees from around the world to share three days of biblical learning and worship. While previously an event for women, recently this conference began including men, so that husbands and wives have an opportunity to attend together and use this conference as a weekend getaway.

This year's conference features some of the current top Christian leaders, including Rhonda Davis, ladies' ministries director, worship and arts department director and founder of the Hadassah School of Ministry at Church of the Harvest in Cleveland, Tenn.; Mike Hayes, founding and senior pastor of Covenant Church in Carrollton, Texas; Fred and Anna Kendall of Life Languages Institute, Inc.; Marcus and Joni Lamb; and the Daystar Singers and Band.

"Our goal is to motivate both men and women and give them practical, spiritual guidance that will cause them to leave the conference refreshed and renewed," said Marcus Lamb, president and CEO of Daystar. "In order to accomplish this, we have brought in leading inspirational teachers who are able to speak to all generations. This is an event that no one will want to miss."

Recognizing the importance of mentoring a younger generation and providing encouragement during their difficult tween and teen years, the Lambs are encouraging attendees to share the Refreshing Times Conference with teenagers offering those 13-19 years old a free event with an accompanying adult registration.

"As a mother of three, I know the importance of training teenagers in the ways of the Lord," Joni Lamb said. "The Refreshing Times Conference is an excellent bonding experience for husbands and wives, best friends, mothers and daughters, fathers and sons or Bible study leaders and students. It is an opportunity to come together with others to inspire and support one another."

Early bird specials are available for those who register for the conference by June 8 with a conference fee of $40 and special hotel rates of $129 for a single room and $149 for a double room at the Omni Fort Worth, available with the use of the "refreshing times" code. Rates will increase beginning June 9 and again on Aug. 3. Registration is currently available online at www.Daystar.com and until the start of the conference on Aug. 20.

Joni and Marcus Lamb founded Daystar Television Network in 1997. Today, it is one of the fastest-growing and largest Christian television networks. Headquartered within the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex in Bedford, Texas, Daystar seeks to provide first-class, faith-based TV for today's generation. In addition to leading the network, the Lambs also host the flagship program, "Celebration." Additional information is available at www.Daystar.com.
