Crossroads Communications Announces its Board of Directors

Nine members bring extensive experience and vision

BURLINGTON, Ontario, Canada, April 15 /Christian Newswire/ -- Crossroads Christian Communications today announced the Board of Directors serving for the 2010 year.  The nine-member board brings expertise and geographical diversity to the vision of Crossroads and CTS Television.

"Our board members are gifted leaders in their own right and make up the desired mosaic of qualities needed to oversee our new vision with a high degree of competence," explains Don Simmonds, Chief Executive Officer. "I am very pleased that each of these fine people have agreed to serve the Crossroads constituency in this way."

The Crossroads Communications Board members are:

Kerry Carmichael of Toronto, currently the Executive Director of the BMW Retailer Communication Team, and formerly VP of Technology and Organizational Development for City Buick Pontiac Cadillac Ltd. Kerry has served on the Crossroads Communications Board since 2001.

David Garda, who lives in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois, and is a principal with Cadre Ministries (USA) and an author and developer of advanced leadership training concepts. As a Taylor University graduate with a focus on business, economics and psychology he holds a Masters degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School with an emphasis on Christian formation and education.

Rev. Dr. Bruce Fawcett from Kentville, Nova Scotia, serves as Associate Professor of Leadership at Acadia University. He is also the Special Assistant to the President and Director of Doctoral Studies at Acadia University's Divinity College. Prior to these responsibilities, Bruce served in pastoral and academic roles and most recently served the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches for nearly a decade as Director of Youth and Family Ministries, Director of Communications, and Associate Executive Minister.

Rev. Mel Finlay who lives in Pickering, Ontario is the National Director of Nation at Prayer. Mel has served in senior leadership roles in government, the not-for-profit and corporate sectors. Prior to joining Nation at Prayer, Mel served as a consultant to Fortune 500 companies, small to mid-size businesses, and not-for-profit organizations; has been a mentor and coach; and for over 10 years was Senior Pastor of a multi-ethnic community church.

Stevan Novoselac lives in Mississauga, Ontario and is a partner with Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP, one of Canada's largest national law firms. He heads up the tax dispute resolution practice at Gowlings' Toronto office and resolves all types of tax disputes for taxpayers from across Canada.  Steve holds degrees in Commerce and Law.  He has faithfully served on the Crossroads Communications board since December 2003.

David Peneycad from Toronto, serving as the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the national office of Grant Thornton (one of Canada's 5 largest accounting firms). A Chartered Accountant, David oversees the administrative, financial, technology and marketing operations for the firm's 45 offices, 250 Partners and Principals and 1700 staff. Before joining Grant Thornton, he was the CEO of a successful marketing and promotions firm. Throughout his career, David has served on the Boards of numerous charities and Christian ministries.

Dr. Carson Pue, is president of Arrow Leadership www.arrowleadership.org. This global ministry was founded by Dr. Leighton Ford with a vision to develop leaders "to be led more by Jesus, lead more like Jesus, and to lead more to Jesus." Carson is recognized as a leader of leaders who has an ability to identify leaders and invest wisdom into their development through mentoring, teaching and spiritual guidance. He is the best selling author of "Mentoring Leaders: Wisdom for Developing Character, Calling and Competency." He is a seasoned board member with other ministries who also understands media ministries. Before serving with Arrow, Carson was the executive director of Chuck Swindoll's radio ministry Insight For Living www.insight.org.

Donald Simmonds from Uxbridge, Ontario who was recently appointed as Crossroads Communications' CEO. Don brings a combination of experience in both business and ministry. He has helped start over 20 new ventures in the last 30 years and in 2008 along with his brothers and late father were inducted into the Canadian Telecom Hall of Fame recognizing their creation of Clearnet (now Telus), one of Canada’s national wireless networks.

Arnold Small, who lives in Paris, Ontario and has served on the Boards of Crossroads Communications and CTS for over 15 years. Arnie brings a deep commitment to Crossroads along with a wealth of experience from his successful ownership and operation of a number of family owned Home Hardware Building Centre Stores located in South Western Ontario.
