VANCOUVER, Wash, June 22, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- Saint Luke Productions has just released a radio and web series, BENEDICTUS MOMENTS, based on the profound daily meditations of Pope Benedict XVI, the leader of the Catholic Church worldwide. Now playing on the web, on smartphones and in several radio markets, the series is noted as "the teaching genius of Pope Benedict XVI," and has global potential to confront the crisis and challenge of the modern world. The series will expand next week to the EWTN Global Radio Network.

After reading the beautiful and thought-provoking meditations of the Holy Father every evening, actor and film director Leonardo Defilippis of Saint Luke Productions decided that this wonderful teacher and leader of the Faith needed to be heard more extensively, especially through the medium of radio. "The Pope is an incredible teacher and his words need to be digested carefully and often," notes Defilippis.

In an effort to strengthen the understanding and insight of the Word of God and the rich legacy of sacred tradition, Saint Luke Productions now offers the voice of Leonardo Defilippis, as he narrates these beautiful words. As wonderfully written as they are spoken, the two-minute meditations are taken from the book "Benedictus: Day by Day with Pope Benedict XVI" (published by Ignatius Press and Magnificat), based on the inspiring daily written reflections of the Pope. Listeners who have already visited the website for a daily dose of papal wisdom have called the series "deep," "insightful" and "challenging." One woman writes, "I have never heard so much said in so few words!"

This live theater and film company whose mission is to evangelize the culture through the dramatic arts with live theater and films, and serve as a communicator of values though uplifting entertainment, hopes to promulgate the Pope's message to an even a wider audience, especially to the entire English-speaking world through this audio series. "This is a wonderful way to make the insightful messages of the Pope more accessible to the modern world and to contemplate the beauty and truth of the Faith, offering us peace in the midst of our hectic day" says Defilippis.

On the web and smartphones, audiences can simply log on daily to hear the latest installment of BENEDICTUS MOMENTS and to make the words of Pope Benedict a part of one's daily walk of faith. Radio stations, dioceses, and organizations interested in information regarding radio distribution of BENEDICTUS MOMENTS are encouraged to contact Saint Luke Productions directly at 360-687-8029 or distribution@stlukeproductions.com.
