SACRAMENTO, July 14 /Christian Newswire/ -- On August 18th, the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives and California Volunteers will host a conference in Sacramento, California, designed to highlight and strengthen the role of faith-based and community organizations in meeting the needs of their communities with a special focus on resources and partnership opportunities.  This event will provide resources and training on a variety of topics including volunteer trends and management, disaster preparedness and response, crime prevention/intervention, prisoner reentry, accessing private, State and Federal resources, and more.

This event is part of a series of regional conferences hosted by the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives across the country and around the world.  These events are designed to connect frontline nonprofit organizations with resources to help strengthen and expand the services they offer and facilitate opportunities to network with community partners and government officials.  Breakout sessions will feature information on State and Federal grants and practical guidance on the grant-writing process; opportunities for non-financial collaboration between government and nonprofit programs; and successful practices of effective human service organizations.
