National Foundation Expands to Dallas, Texas; Opens Office to Provide Training and Grants

Contact: Matt Baxter, Mission Increase Foundation, 503-639-7364

PORTLAND, Ore., Sept. 23, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- Mission Increase Foundation (MIF) today announced the opening of a new branch office in Dallas, Texas. MIF Dallas will join eight other Mission Increase Foundation offices across the nation, dedicated to offering biblically based fundraising training, consulting and grant opportunities for Christian organizations.

Mission Increase Foundation seeks to increase the mission of all nonprofits by teaching key ministry fundraising skills based on a transformational giving philosophy. MIF offers a combination of workshops and seminars on multiple topics, along with personal consultations, all free of charge, to train ministries on a wide range of issues based on Transformational Giving principles.

"Too many times ministries are focused on raising funds and neglect the call to nurture the hearts of their donors," said Dave Farquhar, President of Mission Increase Foundation. "Transformational giving, biblical giving, challenges ministries to focus on the giver rather the recipient's bottom line, and has the power to transform both the giver and the recipient as both learn to trust God. We believe this can have a lasting impact on the entire Dallas community."

In order to provide Dallas nonprofit organizations with personalized and dedicated consulting, Mission Increase Foundation has hired Brian Hurd to serve as the MIF Dallas Senior Giving and Training Officer. A well-known and successful nonprofit professional and consultant with 16 years in the nonprofit industry, Hurd has worked with over 250 nonprofits in a wide range of areas, including strategic planning, leadership coaching, fundraising, and key donor relationships.

"Brian brings a wealth of experience in a wide range of key nonprofit areas," Farquhar said. "He shares our passion to see nonprofits grow, while following biblically sound fundraising principles. We are excited to see what the Lord will do in Dallas."

Prior to joining Mission Increase Foundation, Hurd served as Senior Vice President at The Pursuant Group, having formerly served as the principal and founder of Ministry Consulting Group. Hurd's extensive experience also includes working as Vice President of Advancement at Houston Baptist University where he was instrumental in founding the University's Government Relations Agency, and working with the Greater Dallas region Salvation Army organization.

"God is at work in and through the city of Dallas; this city is committed to advancing the Kingdom and being used for His purposes," Hurd said. "I am blessed to be a part of launching this great organization in our area and seeing the impact it will have on ministries that so faithfully serve the Lord."

As part of the official office launch, MIF Dallas will be hosting a Journey to Transformation seminar on October 12, 2011. To attend this free seminar and learn more about how Mission Increase Foundation might help your ministry grow, visit www.mif.org and register in the "Upcoming Trainings" section.

Since 1999, Mission Increase Foundation has provided over 1000 ministries with free training on fundraising and board governance, and has awarded over $18M in matching grants to smaller Christian ministries. These ministries have used the training and matching grants to raise over $140M in new funds.
