DALLAS, April 20, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- A seven-year tribulation was not taught in the early church says Dr. Robert Franklin, author of The Lost View of Prophecy: Early Church Teachings Shed New Light on Modern Views. Instead, they and believers for nineteen centuries held that The Tribulation duration will be "a time, times, and half a time" (Daniel 12:7), or about 3 ½ years rounded, within the final seven years. Even the founder of nineteen century dispensationalism held this opinion.

But in the twentieth century the influential pretribulationist, Dr. C. I. Scofield, introduced a theory that The Tribulation encompasses ALL seven of the final seven years--known originally as the seven year tribulation theory. Today, his theory is taught as fact.

This is just one of many differences between the early church interpretation of Bible prophecy and modern views. Discover more in The Lost View of Prophecy: Early Church Teachings Shed New Light on Modern Views. Newly released, in only one week it has reached #16 in Amazon on prophecy.
