Commentary Ties Falling Birth Rates to Rise of Neo-Malthusians

MEDIA ADVISORY, Sept. 16 /Christian Newswire/ -- A commentary on WorldNetDaily today discusses the recently released documentary "Demographic Bomb" and the rise of the neo-Malthusians.

In the article, Don Feder (communications director for both "Demographic Bomb" and "Demographic Winter") describes Paul Ehrlich, Nancy Pelosi, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Science Czar John Holdren and the billionaire "Good Club" as symptomatic of the drive to control populations.

The article also connects declining birth rates in Japan (which has the fastest aging population in the world) with economic stagnation -- highlighted by the recent Japanese election. And it discusses the aging of the Baby-Boom generation and economic decline in the United States.

The commentary highlights the following:

  • In January, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tried to justify a huge increase in funding for contraceptives in the economic stimulus bill as a way to help states balance their budgets.

  • In a July 7 interview with The New York Times, Associate Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said one reason for Roe v. Wade was "concern about population growth and in particular growth in population that we don't want to have too many of."

  • John Holdren, Obama's Science Czar, co-authored a 1977 book with Paul and Anne Ehrlich speculating on the possible need for forced abortion to hold down planetary population growth. Holdren didn't disavow that view until he was up for confirmation to become Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology.

  • When a group of billionaires - including Bill Gates, George Soros, David Rockefeller and Ted Turner - met in New York City in May, they agreed that combating "over-population" should be one of their priorities.

The sequel to "Demographic Winter," "Demographic Bomb" (www.demographicwinter.com) is a hard-hitting expose of the way the population-control movement has driven declining birth rates, especially in developing nations.
