MEDIA ADVISORY, June 9, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- To help build strong families, USA Christian Ministries is holding a special video contest in June. This contest shares God's command to honor our Father and Mother.

Individual Christians, youth groups and churches across the USA are to make a short video and submit it by June 30th. On July 5th a $100 Faith 316 Christian store gift certificate will be awarded to the winner along with a copy of the new book "Making A Strong Christian Nation" by Pastor Steven Andrew.

"We show respect for our parents by celebrating Mother's Day in May and Father's Day in June, but God says to honor our father and mother each day," says Pastor Steven Andrew of USA Christian Ministries. He adds, "That is why this month Christians and churches across the USA are encouraging people to creatively share God's commandment of honor across our nation. To honor our parents is the first commandment with a promise. Deuteronomy 5:16 says to "Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may be well with you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you."

The bulletin has several tips and shares, "Are your parents perfect? No, because only God is perfect. But that doesn't take away God's promise to bless you for honoring them. Give respect to your parents and you get rewarded by God."

To enter the contest, simply produce a video of no more than four minutes that inspires the USA to honor our parents. This might be a short skit, a song, a pastor's sermon, an inspiring speech or any creative way to communicate God's command to honor parents. Be sure to include the text of either Deuteronomy 5:16 or Ephesians 6:2-3. Post the video on a video sharing website.
