LOS ANGELES, Oct. 20 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Visual Story Network (www.visualstorynetwork.com) recently hosted its second Leadership Summit. The Summit assembled 76 executive leaders and 16 young filmmakers representing 71 organizations. The key objective of the Summit was to "expand a movement of visual media so every person on earth can experience life-change through Jesus." The Summit featured strategy sessions, presentations on global media trends, a showcase new media initiatives and a "blessing of the next generation."

The Summit resulted in 25 new organizations getting involved with the network. New "strategy groups" were launched focused on topics such as mentoring the next generation of visual communicators and developing models of engaging secular media outlets with biblical content.

Presenter Phil Cooke (Phil Cooke Pictures) issued the challenge to "create media that doesn't suck." Presenter Sharon Epps described the increased effectiveness of Crown Financial Ministries after creating "God Provides," a six-episode dramatic series teaching biblical stewardship. Jesse Bryan (Mars Hill Church / Seattle) challenged content creators to be "mailmen that don't mess with the mail." Dan Rupple (Seriously Funny Entertainment) noted, "The Summit was a great gathering of talent, creativity and dedication to the kingdom."

The level of creative energy was electric as participants interacted with one another. Jon Gregerson (Timbuk2 Studios) commented, "I have a lot of ideas and thoughts that the conference has churned up... if we persevere, there will be some great rewards we can't imagine right now." Hormoz Shariat ("the Billy Graham of Iran") closed the Summit with a challenge to "make our gifts count for Jesus."
