WASHINGTON, July 13 /Christian Newswire/ -- Today the Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund, a national pro-life political action committee, announced its endorsement of Star Parker, candidate for U.S. House of Representatives in California's 37th Congressional District. SBA List Candidate Fund President Marjorie Dannenfelser said of the endorsement:

"Where Laura Richardson has dropped the ball on pro-life feminine leadership, Star Parker has picked it up to run with true advocacy for women and unborn children. California and all American women deserve the pro-life feminine leadership Parker so capably provides. Her commitment to rescind taxpayer funding of abortion in health care and in every aspect of federal spending is urgently needed in the coming Congress."

Dannenfelser praised Parker's rise from a struggling single teen mother, after having had multiple abortions, to author, columnist, vocal pro-life advocate and "women's hero." "A new women's movement which affirms its original pro-life roots is making its way to the House of Representatives and, true to her name, Star Parker is one of its brightest new stars," Dannenfelser said.

Parker is founder and president of the Center for Urban Renewal & Education, a non-profit think tank dealing with social policy issues. She is also the author of three books and a regular guest speaker for the Clare Boothe Luce Policy Institute's college campus lecture program and events like the pro-life Family Research Council's Value Voters Summit.

Parker will face pro-abortion Democrat incumbent Laura Richardson in the November general election.

The Susan B. Anthony List plans to spend $6 million on voter education in the midterm elections, including $3 million on key Senate races. The Susan B. Anthony List is a nationwide network of over 280,000 Americans, residing in all 50 states, dedicated to mobilizing, advancing, and representing pro-life women in politics. Its connected Candidate Fund increases the percentage of pro-life women in the political process.
