GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., March 19, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- Fans of four-time GRAMMY® Award-winning band Third Day Band and lead singer-songwriter Mac Powell will be able to submit questions and receive real-time answers about adoption during the 30-minute Q&A on Twitter with @MacPowell.  People will be able to ask Mac questions that are geared toward being an adoptive parent, whether they have adopted already or are in the early stages of adoption. Questions can be submitted now at www.adoptionjourney.org/share/macpowellchat to be answered during the live event.

"Adoption has touched my family personally, and I hope this Live Chat will help encourage other couples to start or continue considering adoption to build their family," said Mac Powell, frontman for the rock band Third Day. Mac and his wife Aimee are proud parents of five children including three biological and two adopted children.

"We love Mac's heart for adoption and are looking forward to connecting him as an adoptive parent with couples considering adoption through this live event on Twitter," said Marc Andreas, Vice-President of Marketing at Bethany Christian Services, the nation's largest adoption agency.

Third Day recently released the hit single, "Children of God," which talks about our adoption as God's own sons and daughters.  The accompanying music video also ties the lyrics to physical adoption by featuring adopted children, including Mac and Aimee's son Emmanuel and daughter Birdie Claire.

The band is currently traveling the country on its "Make Your Move" tour.  Over the past decade, Third Day has racked up 27 No. 1 radio singles and sold more than seven million albums, receiving two RIAA Platinum and eight Gold certifications. The band has won four GRAMMY awards, an American Music Award, 24 GMA Dove Awards and multiple ASCAP honors. The band has appeared on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson," "60 Minutes" and "Nightline" and been featured in The New York Times, USA Today and on the cover of Billboard, which called Third Day "one of the best rock bands."
