Vidaroo's Video Streaming Contributes to Increased Online Church Attendance at Faithworld

ORLANDO, Feb. 25, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- Since partnering with Faithworld in January 2010, Vidaroo, a provider of an innovative cloud-based video distribution/syndication software platform, has helped the Orlando-based mega-church reduce their multimedia expenses and improve the online sermon viewing experience, as well as aiding in the opening of a satellite campus in Port St. Lucie, Florida. By addressing the unique needs of churches far more comprehensively than most software companies catering to faith-based organizations, Vidaroo has become an essential part of Faithworld's ministry.

In late 2009, Faithworld was using another video streaming platform to broadcast their weekly sermons to approximately 6,000 members. After experiencing multiple technical issues, including poor quality streams with frequent buffering, the church decided to change video syndication providers.

One of the key factors for ultimately choosing Vidaroo was the company's affordable pricing model. By switching providers, Faithworld received better quality service while saving about 85% a month. This equated to tens of thousands of dollars that could be put to use in other areas of the ministry. Additionally Vidaroo does not require an up-front setup fee and offers month-to-month services without long-term, binding contracts.

The technology behind Vidaroo's platform gave Faithworld the tools it needed to take their streaming video to the next level. Unlike their pervious platform, the Vidaroo media player is embedded directly into Faithworld's website – keeping visitors directly on the church's page, rather than bumping them onto a pop-up window operated by the streaming provider. Vidaroo also gave Faithworld the ability to place multiple media players in various areas of their website and select which content could be played on each. This has allowed the church to develop creative children's programming, adult bible study teachings and special seasonal materials, all housed in the correct areas of their existing website.

Speaking to what sets Vidaroo apart, Ryan Russell, former production manager at Faithworld, says, "Typical video streaming software providers for churches all do things one way and don't offer any degree of flexibility. With Vidaroo, the software is intuitive. It gave us options that others did not, like multiple user accounts and self-management of video streams. Vidaroo's white-labeled player streams in Flash and comes equipped with social media connectivity and online giving buttons. These enhancements are what end users want, and they also help to capture a greater online following."

Today, Faithworld has grown to 7,500-plus members and has launched a second campus in South Florida. The Port St. Lucie location was made possible in part by Vidaroo, whose streaming services were used to bring Orlando pastor Clint Brown's message live to the satellite campus each weekend until a local pastor was found. Since switching streaming providers, Faithworld has more than doubled their online church attendance numbers. Currently, over 1,000 people from all areas of the world log onto Faithworld.com to view online church services each week. The growth in online attendance is largely contributed to the viewing experience and quality streaming provided with the Vidaroo platform.

Tom Moreland, Chairman and CEO, said, "Helping grow membership and driving efficiency gains are key components of Vidaroo's value proposition to the marketplace. We, at Vidaroo, are proud to help Faithworld and other ministries deliver their valuable message with our easy to use solution that is both powerful and affordable."
