NEW YORK, Nov. 11 /Christian Newswire/ -- Commissioner William Roberts of the Salvation Army is the latest addition to Odyssey Network's Board of Trustees. He was recently appointed as the National Commander of the Salvation Army USA and assumed that role as of November 1.

Roberts has enjoyed a decades-long career with the Salvation Army, beginning in the 1970s when he served as an officer for the USA Central Territory. He held subsequent positions in Michigan and Illinois and began his international work in 2001 as Territorial Commander of the South America East Territory. In 2005, he became International Secretary for Business Administration to the International Headquarters.

Roberts holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University, and a Master of Arts in Religious Studies from the University of Detroit. He pursued additional studies at the University of Minnesota, Nazarene Theological Seminary and North Park Seminary and later attended the International College for Officers.
