CHARLOTTE, NC, Aug. 18 /Christian Newswire/ -- With unemployment numbers remaining in double digits, many people are looking for career assistance -- of those, more than 48 percent have historically turned to the church. To help churches address and meet this growing need, Crossroads Career® Network is hosting a career ministry conference for church pastors and leaders who want to help people in their congregations and communities to find jobs, careers and calling.

The conference will be held Saturday, September 12, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at Hales Corners Lutheran, a Crossroads Career member church located near Milwaukee, WI. Church pastors and leaders from all Christian denominations in the Midwest are welcome. Hales Corner Lutheran is located at 12300 W Janesville Road, Hales Corners, WI 53130.

Crossroads Career Network is a national community of churches providing faith-based, job search and career transition resources whose member churches have hosted conferences like this one in Atlanta for the Southeast and Dallas for the Southwest.

Brian Ray, Crossroads Career Network founder and CEO, will share the best practices for implementing a career ministry in your church. Attendees will engage in group and panel discussions to help learn how to apply these best practices so job seekers can discover a new job or career that complements their God-given talents and skills.

For $25, participants receive a workbook, ecumenically-appropriate support materials, lunch and an action plan for commencing and/or strengthening the career ministries at their churches.
